Staying Connected in the NT

We recently attended the All Abilities Expo in Darwin, where, at the time, no Auslan interpreters were present in the Northen Territory.

Thinking quickly, our NT Service Access and Information Facilitator Debbie Kennewell liaised with our interpreting serviceAuslan Connections to organise a virtual interpreter to appear with her on an iPad!

Today, we’re working with the NT Government to deliver a live, full-time interpreter in the region, as well as a training pathway for future Auslan interperers, ensuring connections remain for the NT Deaf community.
